Frequently Asked Questions

24/7 asynchronous mediation means that the parties do not need to be online at the same time in order to mediate their dispute. This allows parties to engage in the mediation process at their own pace, any time, any day. Adri lets each user know when there is an action that they need to take, using notification-based turns to move your case forward continuously, cutting resolution time from weeks to just days or even hours.

We currently use LLMs from OpenAI and Gemini for Google Cloud.

Dyspute.ai uses LLMs to power Adri, our AI mediator, who analyzes the information and documents provided by the parties to generate settlement proposals. This same technology is used to generate demand letters and settlement agreements based on user inputs, facilitating dispute resolution through clear and precise communications.

No. We access the LLMs through their APIs, meaning your confidential information is never used for training or improving their models.

No, we do not sell your data. You can learn more by reading our Privacy Policy.

No, unless you decide to share it. The other party will only see the dispute summary you approved and how you voted on each settlement proposal—meaning whether you voted Accept or Reject when presented with a particular proposal. You can also choose to share relevant documents with the other party during the mediation process.

Yes. Every communication that occurs through Dyspute.ai—whether between the parties, with Adri (our AI mediator), or with a human mediator—is considered part of a formal mediation process.

Under applicable law, these interactions are strictly confidential and protected by mediation privilege. This means that everything discussed, proposed, or admitted during your sessions is inadmissible as evidence and cannot be used against you in a future court case or trial. Additionally, all participants and mediators are exempt from discovery or compulsory testimony, ensuring your negotiations remain within a secure legal "safety zone" where you can explore solutions freely.

No. Dyspute.ai’s mediation process is entirely text-based and asynchronous, meaning you never have to see, hear, or directly communicate with the other party. Adri facilitates the discussion and guides both sides toward a resolution.

Adri analyzes the information provided by both parties, including key concerns, goals, and relevant facts. Using AI-driven logic and mediation best practices, Adri generates fair and reasonable proposals designed to resolve the dispute while minimizing back-and-forth negotiation.

One of the best features of human mediation is the mediator’s proposal, where the mediator takes all the information received from both parties and makes a reasonable settlement suggestion. We made this a central feature of our platform. Adri generates the initial settlement proposal based on all relevant information, removing the pressure of deciding who should make the first move or what the offer should be. This approach speeds up the mediation and can increase the likelihood of reaching a fair resolution. However, for each subsequent proposal, users can choose to vote on a new settlement proposal from Adri or to make a direct offer to the other party. Adri can even help draft the direct offer.

Unlike generic AI chatbots, Adri is a specialized neutral trained on the gold standards of professional mediation. We’ve integrated various ethical frameworks and best practices used by human mediators into Adri’s core logic, including: ICODR Online Dispute Resolution Standards, ABA/AAA/ACR Model Standards of Conduct for Mediators, JAMS Mediators Ethics Guidelines, and NACM Mediation Best Practices for Better Outcomes.

As a member of the International Council for Online Dispute Resolution (ICODR), we self-certify our compliance with global benchmarks for impartiality, transparency, and accessibility. This ensures that Adri doesn't just process data—it facilitates a balanced, confidential, and fair environment where you maintain total control over the final outcome.

Yes, but only when both parties agree to a resolution and sign a settlement agreement. Once signed, the agreement becomes legally binding, but it is up to each party to follow through with their commitments. Dyspute.ai provides a simple settlement agreement for the parties to use, though they may revise it or use their own template if preferred. Please note that certain types of disputes, like those related to divorce, death, or bankruptcy, may require additional court approval to make the outcome legally binding.  Please see our Prohibited Use Policy for additional information.

Not yet. Our system focuses on the facts and goals presented by each party, rather than specific legal technicalities. However, well-reasoned and structured settlement proposals and correspondence can still be persuasive and effective in most situations.

While Adri can assist with almost any dispute, Dyspute.ai is most effective for common two-party disputes that are relatively straightforward and lower in dollar value. This includes disagreements over contracts, services, business transactions, property damage, landlord-tenant issues, and unpaid invoices. If your dispute is highly complex, involves multiple parties, or requires in-depth legal analysis, traditional mediation with legal counsel may be more appropriate.

Yes. Users can edit the initial dispute summaries used to begin the mediation, and depending on the product tier they purchase, the settlement agreement to end the mediation. These edits include revision tracking, version control, and AI-assisted editing to ensure clear communications, transparency, and accuracy.

Our platform features secure, in-platform settlement payment processing (via Stripe). It also allows the parties to decide who pays for the mediation itself, or whether they want to split the costs.

Yes. Our enterprise-grade platform is built for the scale and complexity of business needs. The platform offers flexible enterprise account options with dedicated dashboards and team management tools necessary for organizations with high-volume resolution needs. Payment options include pay-as-you-go or subscription pricing.
